About Us

student and teacher

Are you excited about homeschooling your children? Do you love the flexibility and dynamics of both in-person and at-home teaching and learning? Then we are the perfect school for you! We are a TK-8 charter school under the El Centro Elementary School District, and we welcome students from across the Imperial Valley, regardless of their home school district.

We offer a unique partnership between parents, students, and certified teachers, creating a successful learning environment. Our approach ensures your child meets or exceeds grade-level standards and targets. Our secret ingredients? Trust, Teamwork, and Triumph!

Students are warmly invited to attend our in-person classroom workshops twice a week with our credentialed teachers. During these sessions, they complete assignments from the weekly lesson plans and collaborate with peers. This offers a wonderful opportunity for students to connect with others in their grade level while enjoying personalized instruction.

And don’t forget our FAB FRIDAYS! Every Friday, all students are welcome to join us for exciting social activities, enrichment opportunities, guest instructors, and more.

Discover the additional benefits our program provides:

  • Comprehensive Curriculum
Our program offers enriching weekly lesson plans in language arts, writing, math, social studies, and science. Students receive Chromebooks for access to curriculum and educational apps through Clever and Google Classroom.

  • Engaging In-Person Workshops
Held Monday through Friday, these workshops are led by certified staff and focus on phonemic awareness, phonics, close reading, process writing, and math using models and manipulatives to deepen conceptual understanding. Students also enjoy hands-on science activities each week.

  • Valuable Parent Trainings
We offer both in-person and Zoom training sessions for TK–8th grade parents and guardians. Topics for 2025–2026 include SMART Start grade-level overviews, phonics and reading, strategies for English learners, a book study on 8 Habits for Highly Effective Math Students, the Three Reads math routine, CAASPP data analysis, and more—tailored to parent interests and needs.

  • Technology Integration
Our lessons incorporate dynamic tools such as Google Slides, Google Docs, Canva, Adobe Express, Nearpod, Quizizz, Kahoot, Blooket, Kami, and more, supporting digital literacy and creative expression.

  • Intervention Support
Our teachers offer afterschool tutoring sessions for students who need additional support. These small-group sessions provide individualized instruction focused on strengthening foundational skills in reading and math, as well as targeted preparation for state testing. This extra layer of support ensures every student has the tools they need to succeed.
  • FABULOUS FRIDAYS
These special days offer fine arts experiences, hands-on science, multi-age enrichment in classrooms or our STEAM lab, visits from guest instructors (in person and via Zoom), extended recess, and time in our school garden.

  • Robust Enrichment Opportunities
Activities like drill and tall flags, robotics, media production, band, orchestra, student leadership, and book clubs are all driven by student interests and designed to inspire creativity and growth.

  • Afterschool Enrichment with Dance and Play
We proudly partner with Dance and Play to offer TK–6 students engaging afterschool options including musical theater, ballet for littles, tumbling, basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, and more, bringing movement and fun beyond the school day.

  • Family Engagement and Events

We host field trips both within and outside the county to enhance our curriculum and foster meaningful connections among homeschool families and students throughout the year. For the 2025–2026 school year, planned trips include the Julian Homestead, a movie and lunch at Chuck E. Cheese, our annual beginning-of-the-year swim party, a trip to San Diego, and more! In addition to field trips, we host a variety of fun and educational annual events such as the Fall Friendship Festival, Holiday Hangout, Living History Museum, Family Art Nights, STEM Night, Lunch on the Lawn, and Field Day.

  • Ongoing Teacher-Parent Collaboration
Every 30 school days, each teacher meets with parents to discuss student work, share resources, and address upcoming events and any concerns, creating a supportive, communicative educational partnership.

  • Small Class Sizes & Personalized Support
You'll love our small class sizes and the additional support from instructional assistants in both primary and upper grades. We also support students ready to move beyond their current grade level by offering accelerated learning options based on mastery and assessment data.
