Principal Message

Dear Families and Community,

 

Welcome to Imperial Valley Homeschool Academy (IVHSA) and the 2024-2025 school year! We are proud to be part of the El Centro Elementary District and thrilled to have you join our inclusive and supportive community.

 

I'm Marilyn McAlister and I'm honored and overjoyed to be the principal of IVHSA, home of the Bees. My passion for education has been shaped over the past 32 years in the education. This is my 28th year at ECESD. I've been a classroom teacher for 28 years, a district-wide resource teacher for 2 years, and this is my 2nd year as the IVHSA principal. 

 

At IVHSA, we offer an Independent Study Program where parents take the lead in teaching their children at home, with the added benefit of guidance and instruction from our dedicated, certificated teachers on site. We truly value the partnership with our families.

 

Each grade level from TK-8 at IVHSA has its own certificated teacher who collaborates with parents and students, ensuring that everyone receives the support they need. We offer daily workshop opportunities, where students can participate in engaging academic activities with their teachers and socialize with their peers. It’s the perfect blend of learning and community!

 

We also provide a variety of training sessions for parents to help you navigate the curriculum and share best practices, making your instructional journey smoother and more effective. We deeply appreciate your involvement and the trust you place in us to support your child’s education. Our amazing staff and the strong connections we build with our families make our community truly special.
