What IVHSA offers

IVHSA is truly a partnership between our teachers, support staff, and our families.  We strive to provide support and instructional strategies that will enhance the homeschooling experience. Our shared goal is to provide the necessary instructional tools and strategies to equip our families to excel and succeed in their educational endeavors.  Our small class sizes afford us the opportunity to differentiate instruction and further challenge our students.   
 
Our school provides: 
 
  • Curriculum and weekly lesson plans for language arts, writing, math, social studies, and science
  • Student Chromebooks for use of curriculum and other educational applications
  • STEAM hands-on activities in our in-person workshops
  • Weekly in-person workshops Monday-Friday delivered by certificated staff with emphasis on teaching phonemic awareness, phonics, close reading, math using models and manipulatives
  • Teaching the writing process for informational, opinion/argumentative, and narrative writing
  • Integration of educational technology into lessons (Google Slides, Google Docs, Adobe Express, Canva, Quizziz, Blooket, Kami, and more)
  • FABulous Fridays offer academic lessons, fine arts activities, hands-on science activities, extended recess for socialization, and more
  • Drill and Tall Flags Team
  • Robotics Club
  • Student Leadership Team
  • Band and orchestra
  • Quarterly family field trips in and outside of county
  • Annual family events including Living History Museum, Paint Night, STEM Night, and Lunch on the Lawn
